Campus Dining at Northern Arizona University

C

Campus Dining

There aren't many healthy options available to the students, especially to those who use their meal transfer plans (which many that live on campus do). The options get old real quick. Plus there aren't any real late night options for those students who live on south campus.

Diversity at Northern Arizona University

B+

Pretty Darned Accepting

Compared to many of the high schools that students from all over the country come from I would say that NAU is very diverse. I have yet to notice any challenges in ethnic/racial diversity. Everyone here who I have met and associated myself with has turned out to be not only open, but accepting to all different races, religions and sexual orientations. There also doesn't seem to be a problem with those from different economic backgrounds. Most of the students don't care what you are, it's all about who you are here.

Off-Campus Dining at Northern Arizona University

B

Food

There are a lot of places off of campus for students to eat. Thai, sushi, Mexican, bar & grills etc. Most are within walking distance too, and restaurants are constantly giving students coupons making food affordable for everyone.

Campus Housing at Northern Arizona University

D

Housing

Having lived in the two worst dorms on campus both years that I have been at NAU, I don't have very many nice things to say. McConnell was big, but the furniture was old and it was on south campus, away from everything. It also didn't have the sense of community that so many of the other dorms seemed to have. Gillenwater has a very nice location (across from the union, by many academic buildings), but the rooms are small, furniture is old, and the furnace is one of the scariest things I have ever been around.

Academics at Northern Arizona University

B-

Academics

Most people say that the workload here isn't very strenuous, which at times can be true, but a lot of our classes are much more difficult than what you would expect from a school like NAU.

Guys & Girls at Northern Arizona University

C+

Guys and Gals

A lot of guys have either the bro or skater look going on, whereas the girls mostly dress in a much preppier style. It seems like most of the guys here just want relationships. The girls, on the other hand just want to be single and enjoy their time. There aren't that many attractive guys here, so you often see more attractive females dating...less attractive males...
