Sports Not Top Priority
Sports are not huge at Juniata College. The football team was pretty pathetic, but it has been improving a lot. Volleyball and Basketball are very good, and have a lot of support from the students. Other schools don't like playing at Juniata because we support our teams so strongly. I do not think the other sports teams get as much support. The athletic facilities are pretty great. There are many intramural and club sports, rugby and frisbee are very popular.

It's Central PA, of Course It's Cold
At Juniata it gets cold pretty early on, it is Central Pennsylvania after all. Fortunately, the buildings are not far apart from each other, it never takes more than five minutes to get from one academic building to the next. We had few closings last year for the weather. There were a few days when we had nice, sunny and hot weather, then it went right back to cold and rainy. Most students live in campus, so the bad weather is not a problem for most people.
