UCSB ensures the comfortability and safety of it's students by providing resources that one can rely on. This includes such things as escorts services which are available 24/7 (throughout campus and the adjacent college community), Community Service Officiers which patrol the dorms and campus on a 24 hour watch to be sure of safety, and campus police that are on their game when needed.

The IV Ghetto
The off-campus housing is in a great location to catch surf and sun!The options are rather available, a short bike ride from the campus, are relatively safe to live in, and compared to the dorms they are priced very affordably. However, most of the houses or apartments are not terribly well kept and the parking can sometimes be an issue. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons.

Great Looking Bunch!
Relatively speaking, the gal& guy population of UCSB is extremely attractive. They tend to be interested in a wide spectrum of things, but having fun is a very high priority along with hitting the books. Casual dress is most frequently embodied, though hitting the college town on weekends might require a bit more preparation.
