Rec. Center/Athletic Center at CC

Is there a decent gym to work out in on campus at CC? Any information would be helpful! :D

CC is currently in the process of constructing a brand-new athletic center that is set to be complete in the spring of 2013!

Yep! There is a huge remodeling project on the gym that is expected to be completed by 2013

Is not being Mormon going to be a problem?

We all know that Utah is known for being the "Mormon State," and I was just curious to know if that is true at Utah State University. Would I be part of the minority if I were to go to this school? I'm just wondering if I will be able to find friends that won't push their beliefs on me, or act in that "holier than thou" state of mind.

This is difficult for me to answer, but I would believe that ,if you get in, there will be no problem for you to find friends. They might press their beliefs on you a little at first, but as long as they are not extremists you should be fine. You will not be part of Mormon minority if you are not a Mormon. All in all, as long as you show them respect for their beliefs then they should show you respect for yours. Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK.

I've lived in central Utah my entire life and I'm a Mormon. It shouldn't be a problem, there are of course, some people who will do things a little differently than you might, but they won't judge you, and if they do then chances are they're not the best of people and you probably should watch out for them.

I promise you Mormons aren't that weird, we're just like everyone else :) Best of luck! If you have any questions, just ask.

I have lived in Utah my entire life and have never had a problem making friends. Religion is not an issue. Except people as they are and you will have a great time. Be sure and keep an open mind.

It won't be a problem. They're accepting of other opinions.

Absolutely not! I'm LDS and i have plently of non-members that go to USU. You probably would be a minority but i'm sure it wouldn't stop you from making friends.

Oh, heavens no! It is so beyond diverse here. I've grown up LDS and in Utah my whole life, and I love being able to step "outside" of Utah and into Utah State. Diversity is not a problem here in Logan.

There are a good majority of Mormons at the school but there is also a fair amount of non-mormons at the school. Those that are Mormon are pretty chill though!

No, don't worry. Mormons are friendly people, I've been here for a while and was never offended by any of them, and I'm not a Mormon.

I have not found it a problem. I have both LDS and nonLDS friends. It will depend on your lifestyle compatability with LDS beliefs.

Partying at CSU

How common is partying among the student body? If I were to want to party, would I have a hard time finding one and/or people to hang out and drink with? How are the extracurricular activities at the school (alcohol and non-alcohol related)? I know that UC is known as a big party school, I was just curious if CSU was a contrast to that or not.

Partying is a big part of CSU. There are many parties all the time around the campus and among the greek community. There are also regular scheduled social activities almost every night in which you can meet up with people and get to know them.

Drinking is a fairly common activity at such events as tailgating. However, there are still a handful of activities on campus every single day that do not include any type of alcoholic beverages.
