Great School!
The professors at UW are very knowlegable in their fields and the departments have great resources for those that seek it. There are thousands of campus organizations that fit all kinds of students if you're interested in extracurricular activities. The workload is heavy but that comes along with attending a good school. Register early for classes and take notice of class size if you are looking for a more intimate setting (some classes have 500+ students).

Venture Outside of the U-District!
Seattle has lots to do and is a beautiful city where you can see the mountains and visit the sound. Lots of parks and a few museums. Local music has a lot to offer but that can be restricted if you're under 21 as most play in bars. Be sure to visit neighborhoods outside of the U-District! I know many students who dislike Seattle but have never been other neighborhoods. Capitol Hill is a great area with a young feel. Or parks such as Gas Works and Golden Gardens.

Live Off Campus!
They have built three brand new dorms since I lived on campus so I will rate for the old ones, which were horrible! They charge an incredible amount for the residential halls while you can find off campus housing for much less and still have the "college experience" of shared housing.
