I'd Rather Stay in My Dorm and Study
There isn't really much to do in the area. If I do eat off campus, I'll go to the nearby chinese restaurant, Golden Wok, or the pizza restaurant. There are better restaurants in Kingston, but it's very difficult to get there without a car. Not many parties occur either. It's just a pretty boring area. The college campus is the highlight of the area and not much occurs here either.

I'm not really familiar with the off-campus housing options. I have a friend that lives off-campus and his apartment is within walking distance of the campus. Some students elect to live in Tivoli and the campus shuttle frequents that area. My friend only pays $700 a month and that's pretty good. That price is cheaper than paying for room and board. It's a pretty good option.

The financial aid is willing to work with you. They want you to attend Bard and will help you find options to pay for attending the school.
