Not 5 Star, but Still Edible!
The food is not great, but there are so many locations that you can go to eat it's really what you make it. There are some places that will really impress you (LOVE MARKET PLACE!) and others that are subpar (some traditional dining offerings) but you've gotta eat, and these places offer just that. The wide variety really makes this better than the average university dining halls.

Best Damn Athletes/Fans/Students/... in the Land!!
I wasn't actually involved in any sports but they definitely play a large role even if you're not in one. Being able to root for your team lets you know just how big athletics are here. The athletic facilities are numerous and contain some of the newest equipment around. For a large campus, there are many facilities so there's no real problem trying to get to one, they're all over campus. Also, SO MUCH SCHOOL SPIRIT and student involvement as well. Not wanting to go varsity? Intramural and club sports are also available and TONS of students get involved, spots fill quickly but they're a lot of fun! (a side not on school spirit, you'll often find people cheering, even for the intramural games)

Insomniac's Problems Are Answered
Parties: There are some nights that house parties are all the rage (mirror lake jump, halloween, home game nights) but mostly that's just for those that are incapable of making it out to the bars.
Bars: Most are 21+, but for those able to go they are AMAZING! Just on campus there are numerous bars to go to and Gateway offers a wonderful mix of dancing (Charlie Bear), casual (gooeyz), or just the average bar/pub (ugly tuna). Never fear those on North Campus, they've got Little Bar, Sloppy Donkey, Thirsty Scholar and lots more in between. Word to the wise, if you're using a fake, stay away from Gateway. Best part about Columbus is that it's only a short ride downtown. There's a party bus offered from campus to downtown and back, plus it's FREE. Downtown offers a wide variety of bars that even those under 21 can enjoy on select nights.
Transportation otherwise can be done using COTA, free with your buckid, or by taxi.
BEST PART: there's always something to do, every night! Turning 21 on a week night? NOT A PROBLEM. There's always some bar with a special or that is hopping on a select night, just ask around and someone will fill you in. :)

Don't Underestimate Any Scholarship!
I ended up getting a full ride to The Ohio State University. Don't ever let any scholarship slip through the cracks. Apply to as many as you can, even if it is being presented through a group you are not affiliated with. There are a lot of minority scholarships out there that are actually not only for minorities, they're also for those who are just exposed to other cultures and can provide a sense of diversity to the university. DEADLINES are enforced. Be sure to get your scholarships done on time and earlier if possible. It's a huge university, tons of people are applying for the same scholarship, if done on a rolling basis your chances get slimmer the later you turn it in. (SOME SCHOLARSHIPS ARE LIKE THIS!) Also, scour the OSU website for scholarships. There are TONS out there that sometimes only one or two students apply for just because it's not being advertised as publicly.
