Transportation at University of Chicago

A-

CTA Is OK

Public transportation is pretty good around the university. A few routes of the CTA are free for students and can get you to some great locations in Hyde Park. The university also has late night shuttles to help off campus residents get back to their homes when it is dark out. The CTA 6 bus can get you straight to Michigan Avenue, though it does take about 20-30 minutes. The Red Line is out of the way and a bit dangerous at night but helpful if you are traveling further north!

Weather at University of Chicago

B+

It's Fun!

Everyone has heard that Chicago has cold, windy, snowy winters and hot, humid summers. As a fan of the cold, I find the winters quite bearable. Though it can get bitter, we had two snow days this past year after a blizzard, and everybody loves a good snow day. The fall and spring are beautiful in Hyde Park and definitely redeem the coldest of winter's nights.
