Completely Safe
I feel safe walking around campus at all hours of the day or night. Swarthmore is 30 minutes from Philadelphia in a very woodsy suburb, so I never feel threatened. Campus Police are around as well, and you can call them if you ever want to be escorted anywhere on campus.

Very Sparse
There is not much off-campus housing, partly because so many people are housed on campus. There are a few apartments in the village of Swarthmore, and one three story building with very bad cleanliness and amenities that is cheaper than on-campus housing. Only a very small percentage of people choose to live off-campus, as it is possible to stay on-campus all four years.

Incredibly Easy
Swarthmore is need-blind. They will take anyone, regardless of economic ability to pay, as long as you are good enough.
