Get a Good Roommate and Be Nice to Your CA
Housing is generally pretty good at Brandeis and in recent years has got significantly better. Upperclassman are set in really nice, new Ridgewood suite style housing, the village (singles and doubles), Ziv (4 and 6 person suites), and the Mods (old but fun senior only apartments). Freshman have decent doubles and sophomores have the option of the CASTLE or suites as well in Rosenthal! Rules of thumb: pick your roommate carefully and be nice to your CA (or RA at other schools) they are a great resources and will help you a lot of you need.

If You Want It, and You Are Willing to Look for It, Its There
Drugs aren't big at Brandeis but if you want something, somebody does it. The most common activity is drinking followed by smoking pot. there is not a lot of peer pressure and many students choose to go out, but not to drink. most drug/alcohol policies are pretty lenient and its pretty hard to actually get in serious trouble.
