Barton College Local Atmosphere had a new discussion posted by deshat

Barton has just offered me a full ride scholarship, but I have my heart set on Campbell University. What are some things about Barton that I should know? Good and bad. Diversity? Surrounding area, i have heard it was a little ghetto? Food? People? Professors? How are the dorms? I'm going to visit soon so I hope I can make a choice.

Anything about Day Hall I need to know? Good and bad.

It's rumored that a girl years back lived and died there. So I've heard there's a ghost and that's the only bad thing. Good dorm

Oh God, now I'm scared, but thanks :)

I stay here now and like it. This dorm is not suite style. You share a room with one roommate and share a hall style bathroom. I really like how close knit the dorm is and it is close to everything.

Thankssss, I thought it was a simple room dorm though!!

Don't go to day hall. I would prefer New Dorm (North Hall), Strickland, or Hedgepath as a female.

Thankssss, do you know how to change dorms? But why not Day?

How diverse is it?

14% diversity in student population. Far less diversity among faculty, but fairly comfortable environment on campus. The surrounding area is rife with bigotry.

Our school is very diverse. we have many groups for different believes and ethnics but we also are unbiased and try to include all students in ALL activities.

How is Blue Ridge Hall?

amazing! Its the athletes dorm but i got in because there was no more room in balsam for the honors kids so it is pretty nice, air conditioned, best dorm on campus for sure

As part of the newest 54 million dollar complex Blue Ridge is state of the art in environmental technology and comfort.

Blue Ridge Hall is one of two of the newest dorms on campus....very nice!
