Hyde Park
There's a lot of hate about Hyde Park regarding the atmosphere and the nightlife. Yes, Hyde Park can get dangerous. Just across from where I live, my friend was mugged at gun point. And two of our bikes were stolen on our first night in the new apartment. Regardless, there's so much going on, whether that be frat parties, apartment get-togethers, and little festivals that nobody knows about. And there's always something going on Chicago whether that be little hipster musical festivals or big club/bar events.

Food
Food is the one thing that's lacking at the University of Chicago. Not many late-night options

Greatest School in the Country
Whenever people feel s****y about going to UChicago, I always remind them that they'll at least have job opportunities when they graduate, cause, you know they aren't going to s****y DePaul, s****y UIC, s****y Northwestern, s****y any-other-school-in-the-country.

Drugs
I don't know what to think about the drug scene here. As a moderate user of moderate drugs, it's been difficult for me to get a hold of LSD this school year. I'm assuming it's been a drought. Other than that, getting drugs hasn't been a problem. When it gets to rarer stuff (heroin, opium, weird hallucinogens) people don't really share, but it definitely exists in big pockets around campus. Coke and E are easier to get, pretty widespread, but, then again, not really. If I was to label the big drugs on our campus it would be: Weed, Alcohol, Hallucinogens, Cocaine in that order. Study drugs are big, but they're no way near as big as people hype them up to be here.
