The basketball team is consistently a top competitor in the district, and had made it to the NCAA tournament many times. However, they generally loose in the first round. There is also no football team which is a little disappointing. I don't keep up with the other sports. School spirit is high during basketball season, but not year round. The gyms here are amazing though, some of the most impressive I have seen. They even have a rock wall at one.

I am not Greek myself, but my boyfriend is so I often hang out with guys and girls who are Greek. I love them all. They are very welcoming although they obviously share very close bonds with one and other. I have also never felt uncomfortable or pressured to join yet they have never treated me any differently because of that. Fun parties, good people. A little small but it works.

Not Strict
This school is not strict about most types of violations, but they do closely monitor the dorms. You will get caught and you will get in trouble so don't do it. The punishments are not crazy harsh but it's bad enough. Visitors in dorms is closely monitored because of the fact the campus is in a city. You are allowed one or two visitors and they have to sign in and show an ID. If you have a party on campus the VCU cops are ridiculous and they will probably bust up the party but usually they don't make any arrests. Richmond cops are actually pretty laid back and just tell you to keep it down.
