Very Safe
Though I have never felt threatened or unsafe at Brandeis, theft/break-ins are actually a big issue here. So, keep your doors locked whenever you're not in the room, especially while sleeping.

Decent, but Not Fantastic
It is very easy to get to Waltham, but there isn't a huge variety of things to do, and some areas are a little sketchy. But, there is a free shuttle service to Boston, so you can easily get into the city for more activities.

Fairly Easy
I was pretty impressed with the financial aid situation at Brandeis, especially since they are committed to meeting 100% of a student's demonstrated need, which was very helpful for me, and they give a lot of extra scholarship money as well.
