Computers Are Great, Printers Are Okay
Computers are readily available and pretty nice. You definitely don't need to bring a printer, but VPrint printers can sometimes be unreliable- as in they don't have paper so you have to go to a different building. But hey, worth the hassle if you ask me.

Artsy and Beautiful
For the most part, Vassar students are beautiful and dress like hipsters. If you are into that, that's perfect. Don't expect the bleached blonde, tan sorority type or the uber masculine frat boy... at all.

Awesome, Open Community
Compared to all my friends' schools, Vassar to me seems the most open and accepting in social situations. Friend groups are really fluid, you can end up hanging out with a group of swimmers one night and your friends from French class the other night. Everyone here seems to be on a certain level of understanding and therefore, the level of cliquey-ness is really minimal. It's definitely one of the top things I love about here.

Scary Poughkeepsie?
Vassar kids hardly go into Poughkeepsie. We stay around the Arlington area, which is a nice suburb right outside Poughkeepsie. A lot of Poughkeepsie residents seem antagonistic towards the school and see us as rich brats (which is hardly true, nowadays). But for those that want to, Poughkeepsie is definitely available- either for field work, exploring, etc.

There's only one dining hall (ACDC) and it can get old quickly. It's not bad and it has plenty of vegetarian options, which I appreciate, but it's not spectacular. A lot of people get minimum meal plans after first semester.
