Health & Safety at University of California - Davis

A-

Reasonably Safe; New Health Center!

UC Davis and the city of Davis itself is reasonably safe. The campus provides escort services for students to and from areas on campus (good for those who study late). Most crimes that occurs involves bikes due to the large amount of bike users on campus. For the most part, if other thefts occur, its usually because of an unlocked car or something uncared for.

As far as health, the campus just opened a brand new student health center that includes a pharmacy. Student rates are fairly reasonable and the University of California system provides basic insurance coverage for all students. You also can see a doctor right away and have the charges billed to your student account! Services at this center range from men and women's health, sex health, and even information on how to party safe.

Greek Life at University of California - Davis

B

They're There

Greek life isn't all that big but it does exist. I'm in a Greek organization and we do a lot more than just party. There are different kinds of Greek organizations on campus, from ethnic-based to pre-professional based. If you're looking for parties, you will find them for sure. If you're looking to join a organization to increase your social network and create a stronger resume, you will also find that as well.

Overall Experience at University of California - Davis

A-

Best Decision

Before I came to Davis, I was hesitant because of what I heard about the cows and small town feel. But now, I'm proud to be a student here. Davis is one of the few true college towns as the businesses surround itself around the campus. Half of the Davis population are students. People study here but they also know how to have fun and relax! Quarter system can catch you off guard which is why you have to be on top of your academics but once you get it, its great. Study hard (if you want good grades). I got one more quarter left at UCD but I've enjoyed it to the fullest. Also, UCD has one of the best study abroad programs ever! I went twice, once for a summer and the second time for a quarter. I'm actually looking into UCD for graduate school!
