Academics
Professors are excellent. They are extremely knowledgeable, all our experts in their fields, and very willing to devote time and effort to your learning. Classes are very interesting, engaging, and difficult. There is a wide variety of courses to choose from.

Guys and Girls
The guys are attractive while the girls get the shorter end of the stick. There are not too many attractive girls at Bowdoin.

Academics- History Major
The department of History has great professors who specialize in different fields based on geography (Africa, East Asia, Europe. America etc). The teachers are excellent and while classes require a lot of reading and research they are very engaging and fulfilling. The essays I have written in my history courses have been the most challenging yet enjoyable and interesting essays that I have written.

Dining
I love Bowdoin food. There are two dining halls so there is always a variety of food to choose from for every meal. I have visited many other colleges and Bowdoin definitely has the best food! I even like Bowdoin food better than my home food!

Nightlife
For people under the age of 21 nightlife is limited, especially if you are an underclassman, as the only place to party for those people is in social houses. However social houses are great because anyone can go there and there are huge rooms for people to dance in. There is also always free beer which is great.

Parking
There are parking lots designed specifically for students and if you have a car parking is very easy. For example I will be living in the Brunswick Apartments (which is on-campus housing) and there is a huge parking lot right next to this apartment complex for its residents to use!

Overall Experience.
Academics are great, dorms are very nice and big, food is amazing, facilities are top notch, campus is beautiful and never too crowded, everything on campus is fairly close, the town of Brunswick has everything you need, it is very easy to get to Portland which is 40 minutes away and its easy to get to Boston as well which is 2 hours away, so my overall experience has been great. Only negatives are the lace of diversity (almost everyone is white), the cocky hockey and lacrosse players who dominate the party scene, the extremely cold weather and long winter which last for basically half of the year.

Scholarhips
The financial aid to American citizens is great, however there is very limited aid for international students.

Health and Safety
The health center is great and campus security is always patrolling the grounds making sure everyone is safe. Security also does a great job taking care of intoxicated people. Brunswick is very safe, especially compared to Lewiston (where Bates is located) and Waterville (where Colby is located.

Housing
Freshmen dorms are amazing! All dorms have at least two rooms (a common room and a bed room). Even doubles have two rooms which is great. Housing is a little worse for sophomores however juniors and seniors get great choices for housing. There are so many different options for upperclassmen housing that after the housing lottery almost everyone is happy!

Strictness
There is no hard alcohol allowed on campus, which sucks! Also drinking games are not allowed! However, these events still occur! Also, the rules on beer are very lenient and security allows people to get drunk as long as they are in control of themselves and drunk fairly responsibly.

Off-Campus Dining
There are many different options to choose from outside of Bowdoin. A very short 5 minute walk to Main street allows you to choose from many different restaurants that are good and pretty cheap. I just wish there were more Asian options!

Diverstiy
There are way too many white people! However, in terms of all areas aside from racial/ethnic diversity, Bowdoin is a very diverse campus.

Transportation
Transportation is very good. Its a 10 minute walk to the bus stop where you can catch a bus to Portland or Boston or anywhere in Maine for a very reasonable price. It is also very easy to call a cab or.
