Quintessential Active, Friendly Community
Nearly all of the students are friendly individuals, generally interested in being involved in the campus and town communities. The townies love the school as well. The only reason I gave the community an A- is that, despite Charlotte's being so close, it is far too easy to never leave the immediate Davidson area.

Lot's to Offer!
Within walking distance are a number of great spots: comfy coffee shop, sushi, bar-food, old-fashioned diner, and two brunch spots close enough to reach even with a wicked hangover. Anything not on this list (i.e. pizza joint, Mexican food, Chinese, Indian, etc...) can be found within a 5-15 minute drive radius, and for the truly adventurous, Charlotte is a mere 25 minute drive away.

Only Exists for Guys...
Davidson is not much of a greek school. While there are fraternities, they are not very selective and parties are open to all students (if you are too exclusive at such a small school, you run out of friends rather quickly). There are two new historically-black sororities on campus, but the vast majority of females interested in joining "sisterhoods" join eating houses - non nationally-affiliated social and philanthropical clubs modeled after Princeton's eating house system. They differ greatly from sororities in that, rather than rush, freshman rate which of the four houses they would like to join and an electronic-algorithm determines which they receive.
