Cathedral of Learning
The Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittburgh is most likely the first building a person would notice when entering the campus. It is currently the second-tallest education building in the world, standing at 535 feet tall. This historic, beautiful building contains classrooms, libraries, and restaurants that many students enjoy every day. The Cathedral is also home to 26 Nationality Rooms, which are classrooms decorated to reflect the heritages of Pittsburgh communities. This building is truly the heart of the campus.

Dorm Life
All students living in an on-campus dorm must be swiped in by a guard using their Pitt I.D. If anyone wants to enter a building he/she does not live in, they must be signed in by a student who does live in that building. Also, to enter one's room, one must swipe his/her Pitt I.D. as well as enter a unique 4-digit code. These methods have ensured me that I am extremely safe on campus.

The Majority of Students Are Non-Greek
Soroities and Fraternitites organize charity events for all students to participate and host frequent parties, but not being involved is okay as well. Some students like the idea of being in a tight-knit, defined community, but others do not see the appeal and both views are perfectly acceptable.
