Off Campus Housing Shortage

NAU has rapidly grown in student enrollment but the town has not adjusted yet. There are few housing options near campus without a long waiting list. They also tend to be quite expensive. They are however, building a new 17 building complex next to south campus called the ridge which i believe will help alleviate the problem for a few years.

Too Many Frats, Too Few Sororities

Pretty much the main reason I stayed at NAU after my freshman year was for my friends in my sorority. Without them I would have transferred immediately. However, Greek life has a problem with having too many small fraternities and too few massive sororities. They are adding a few new ones this year which i believe will help but they have no plan to add more greek housing which will be an issue in the future.
