Parking at Colorado College

A

Easy Easy Easy to Park

If you're a freshman and aren't allowed to have a car, street parking is extremely easy. If you are a sophomore or above, you just get a parking permit, probably in the Slocum lot if you live in Slocum or off campus, and you're really close to every classroom and its not very expensive. There's no way you can complain about parking on campus, except maybe if you're a prospective student, and yeah, the college doesn't cater to your parking.

Weather at Colorado College

A

Love the Weather

The weather is sunny and beautiful, especially in the fall. Then, in the winter, the grass dies but its still sunny, beautiful, and a little bit snowy. There are few enough blizzards or big snow falls that they are still super exciting and everyone acts like they're going to die, when they aren't, but its really fun. The rest of the year its sunny and maybe cold but you don't even notice it because snow means skiing and everyone here loves skiing, and snow boots, and the sun. Beautiful weather.

Inside Scoop at Colorado College

A+

Block Plan, My Life, Etc.

I love Colorado College more than most things besides my family, my friends, and probably my pet dog Chomsky. The classes on the block plan, if you're prepared for it and know what you're getting yourself into, are amazing. I learn so much from my classmates because of the small group discussions that its not just my professor teaching me, its all the people around me. My philosophy and political science classes could never be the same in a lecture. Also, the block plan makes the class take over your life in a really good way. You become so immersed in the subject that you fall in love with it, or hate it, but rarely do I choose classes that I'll hate so I don't have that problem. The professors are there for you and only you, and you form close bonds with classmates and professors.

I love skiing and get to do it as often as I want. Block breaks are amazing as well, because you can hang out with your friends and go on really crazy trips like camping in Crested Butte in the fall or skiing in Breckenridge, or to Texas for a Halloween party, or home to pet your cat and get a home cooked meal, or on a community service trip.

I'm in Greek life but its so minimal here that all it has done is introduce me to some of the most amazing people I've ever imagined meeting, because there is no pretense of "Greek life" being cool. Honestly, I get more criticism than praise for being a DG here just because its so random.

Everyone smiles here, and is so friendly that when I go out to parties or whatnot, I usually end up with a totally different group than my actual close friends because everyone at CC is so friendly and open to new people that making new, random friends with anyone is so easy. The smiles on the faces of my peers are so welcoming. Also, everyone is healthy and athletic without being over the top. Girls work out and guys eat well and although we play very very hard, we are all smart and motivated and involved. I can go on forever so I'm going to stop. But, my days involve running, going to class, eating lunch and dinner with all of my friends, going to DG meetings/events, planning events for the Student Organization for Sexual Safety, going to sports games, making new friends, doing my homework, reading, loving my life, etc.
