Any advice for incoming freshman?

I will be joining the Albany community for this fall and just wanted to know some more about it. I've visited the campus twice, but as a Biology major (I intend to enter zoology as a career), I would like to know more about the labs and facilities open to an everyday science student and how hard (or easy) it may be to find a career in that field. Thanks :)

My room mate is a bio major. The classes are challenging, but she loved it. She intends to become a brain surgeon. She is going really well.

The labs are great, and the students that major in biology are so welcoming. I am too a bio major and it is challenging but in the end with hard studies, it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck :)

Apply for scholarships since being a science major can cost you a lot

Get to know people during your orientation. You have to be open and talk to people. You need to be the one to initiate the conversation.

Try to find a balance between work and play. There are alot of activities on and off campus but try to remember the real reason you are here.

Biology is one of the tougher majors at this school, but there are many individuals on campus willing to help you succeed--whether you need tutoring or help just balancing everything. The facilities are adequate and all equipment is supplied.
