Depends on the Prof
I really enjoy all of my teachers; they're reasonable, helpful, and seem to truly care about you learning the material and making a good grade. BUT, I used ratemyprofessors.com and Koofers in making my schedule so I didn't pick any badly-rated teachers. Doing your research makes the difference between passing and failing, sometimes.

It Depends Where You Are.
There are certain places very close to campus I'm afraid of. BUT, downtown is amazing. The nightlife, shopping and food are all unique and there's definitely something for everyone. Milledge and Five Points are great areas, too, but the projects are located nearly on the UGA campus. Not good.

I've Always Felt Safe
Just be smart, don't go anywhere sketchy, and if it's after dark don't walk alone. Especially on the weekends, cops and UGA police are everywhere. Campus police are typically nice and helpful, while Athens-Clarke County cops can be hard-asses.
I've never had an issue with the health center; the pharmacy is very good.

Slow internet, but lots of computers.
You NEED your own laptop and I would bring a printer to share with your roommate so you don't have to pay (there are always free printer specials during the summer). If you need one, I'd go to MLC or the library, but laptops are definitely easier. PAWS (the campus-wide wireless) can be slow and you have to log in each time you use it. Get a wireless router if you live in the dorm.

Very Impressive!
Some older classroom buildings can be a bit dingy, but the big three - MLC, Tate and Ramsey - are great! I love going to $1 movies at Tate, and studying at MLC really makes you get your work done, it's such a great resource. Ramsey is awesome, but go during off hours to get machines.

Much better than most schools!
It's roughly $14 a day for all-you-can eat, buffet style food from UGA. That means you can have a big, country style breakfast, a burrito and nachos for lunch, ice cream for a snack, and pizza and a big plate of stir fry for dinner. Almost everything is good, and the variety is nice. Definitely get the meal plan if you live on campus.

From fast food to unique fair, lots of choices!
Downtown boasts unique fare, while every chain restaurant in the world is about five minutes away from campus. There are lots of different options; Athens is a good place to eat!

Closet living, but super social!
Every freshman needs to live on-campus in one of the freshman dorms. Sure, you live in a shoebox, but you'll make so many friends and have the time of your life. The bathrooms aren't too nasty, either. The biggest perk? Proximity to classroom buildings.

UGA is really trying
You can definitely tell UGA is trying to get that diverse image, and they seem successful so far. There are so many cultural organizations and celebrations of diversity! I've met tons of different types of people.

Good-looking people.
One drive down Milledge will show you how many Southern Belles and Beaus beautify the campus. Even walking to class, most of the school puts effort in their physical appearance, and it shows.

So much spirit!
Saturday in Athens is like a religious experience, everyone gets so into it and the football game is truly incredible!
Other sports don't get as much recognition, but school pride is seen in everyone.

Always something to do!
Thursday, Friday and Saturday especially, but every night of the week, there is something to do in Athens! Alcohol flows like water, and downtown is always packed full of students. There are dozens of good bars and a few clubs. At UGA, it's a party every night if you want it to be.

Big Part of Campus, but it's okay to be GDI
Greek Life is a great way to get involved, but I didn't rush and have so much going on anyways! If you're a girl, it's easy to get into any fraternity party and they're typically fun. The Greeks are very passionate about what they do, but there's no animosity toward people who aren't.

Really Easy to Get.
As long as you don't use them in the dorms, you're fine. Alcohol and weed are everywhere and extremely accessible. But if you don't do those things, there isn't a lot of pressure. If you want drugs and alcohol, you're in luck. If not, you'll have fun, too, and no one'll judge you.

Just Be Smart.
As long as you drink/do whatever it is you're doing indoors, not too loud and out of the car or street, you'll be okay. I had a cop talk to my obviously drunk friend in a parking lot at 4 AM and sent him right home with a smile.

Very Nice.
Summer is hot, but winter isn't bad compared to most places and Fall and Summer feel like heaven.
