its possible, but out of state tuition is a lot higher even with the act score. but they do have a lot of scholarships based on your grades

I believe a student with those scores would get a lot of scholarships and aid from the University of Iowa

probably somewhere around $1600 if you are a freshman. I got a 28 on the ACT and had a 3.9 high school GPA and that was what I was offered.

A lot of majors require some sort of internship, and being a big college town, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get an internship with the local businesses.

You should do an internship your junior summer of college preferably. Madison has great advisors and resources to make sure you get a job after! And a degree from the UW MAdison is really impressive!

I have always only gotten federal pell grants and am currently trying to find other grants and scholarships. It is a very expensive school but completely worth the debt Im going to be paying until Im 80 years old.

You can get way more than what's shown there for academic honors. I also have an endowed scholarship and and financial grant from Carthage along with a WI tuition grant and federal grants. It's honestly not too terribly hard to pay for.

You could also go out for the merit scholarships. If you are one of the ones picked theres a possibility of full tuition.

I only had to pay 1/3 of the total cost out of pocket for Carthage. I had the maximum federal loan requirements and the rest were grants and scholarships.

Carthage is really good at giving out grants since it is a private school. I would recommend talking to an admissions counselor to try and see if there are more available. Since you have a good ACT score and a high GPA, there should be no problem

Talk to an admissions counselor & they can sometimes find more money for you. I still have a hard time affording here, so finding a job is VERY important.

Not going to lie, it is going to be tough! Madison is a party town, even the adults enjoy the partying lifestyle. If you live in the Lakeshore dorms, you are less exposed to the party scene because the southeast dorms are near state street where all of the party action goes down. After the dorms, it may be hard to keep away from parties because that's what college kids seem to do, but you'll learn what areas are less party-full!

With over 40k students, there are all types. Although partying is big Thursday through Saturday, many choose not to partake.

Yes! When you find those other things/activities to do, you will find people who share the same interests as you! I knew plenty of people who didn't drink. You can go out as much or as little as possible and avoid drinking.

1/4 of people on campus don't drink at all, so you'll have a pretty good chance of finding someone who isn't always for drinking.
