I am a white, regular dressing, generally optimistic high school male. The only diversity I may have to offer is being gay. Will this actually hurt me as an applicant? I know that there's a big thing with all the Chick-fil-a stuff and Elon right now... Could it actually help me? I know Elon is trying to be more diverse! Am I being ridiculous or too paranoid?

even though i do not go there, i don't think so because i know that elon has a fair amount of homosexual students on their campus.

elon has a good amount of gay people and is very accepting of them. However, i don't think it will make a difference for your admissions. Grades are really the only thing that matter in your case

Grades and admission are the only thing Elon will truly care about for your case. As for the Chick-Fil-A...that shed a very bad light on Elon, but I will not go into that. Just have a kickass essay and good GPA and test scores and maybe meet with an admissions counselor.

Do you have opportunities to perform as a freshman?

Yes. At UNCSA there are many opportunites as a freshman to perform. Almost every piece is auditioned before casted.

Thank you very much! :)

Yes UNCSA is an awesome place to get your name out there and show off your talent. everyone is super nice.

No. Will not be able to until my junior year

The point of the school is not to allow you to perform as a freshman. Very rarely will a freshman be on a stage, and if they are, it is a very small role.

Yes, but they are rare.

It is very hard, but it is also very possible. Seniority is something that this school takes highly into consideration but it doesn't mean that your chances of performing are completely eliminated.

If you mean in dance or drama, then yes. THere are multiple freshman performances but mind you this also relies on skill level.
