Local Atmosphere at San Diego State University

A+

Easy to Love!

San Diego has something for everyone. Downtown, the beaches, malls, etc. are all only minutes away. The weather is unbeatable and living here is like living at a vacation spot year round! Everything is relatively close with great variety. San Diego is easy to fall in love with.

Facilities at San Diego State University

A

Modern With a Touch of Old Mission-Style Design...

Our gym, the Aztec Recreation Center, is the largest and nicest gym I have ever seen. The equipment is exchanged for the newest and best ever few years. Membership is free to students living on-campus, and only $18/month for students living off-campus. Membership also includes access to the AMAZING Aquaplex (pool area), bowling center, and group classes (like dance, yoga, kick boxing, etc.)

Our football team plays at the Qualcomm Stadium, which we share with the professional team, the San Diego Chargers.

The campus overall is gorgeous and offers everything a student needs. It is like a city all in itself. There are over 20 restaurants, including my personal favorites: a frozen-yogurt store called Just Chill, a really good build-your-own salad place called Salad Sensations, and 3 Starbucks locations, all of which are included in the meal plans.

Off-Campus Housing at San Diego State University

B+

A Big Selection but Lacking Some Nicer Choices

There are many choices in off-campus housing. Apartments and houses are available all over the place, within walking and short-driving distance. However, we lack a bit of "nicer" choices. A really nice new off-campus apartment complex called Sterling Collwood is currently being built and will be available this fall.
