Our College Bubble
CC is in a rather large, urban city: Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school is nestled between Pikes Peak to the West and the downtown shops to the South. The main highway to travel to Denver/Boulder/Ft. Collins and ALL ski areas is about 2 blocks away. I enjoy these aspects of the location, however, I don't think of Colorado Springs as my ideal "city." If you are looking for a big-city feel this isn't the place, but if you want to be near the mountains and near a big-city (Denver) then this is JUST the place.

Food Is Home-Grown, Natural, and Great!
The food service, Bon Appétit, makes a great effort to have all different choices of food from pasta to salad to a meat dish, and there is even a vegan option for every meal. The fruits and veggies are always fresh, which is my favorite part! The three places to dine on campus all offer unique dishes and good quality food.

We Have Frats and Sororities but They Aren't Dominating
I barely notice Greek life, but there is just enough to keep those interested in being part of Greek life satisfied. The frats and sororities are nice houses. Women do not live in their sororities, but men do live in frats.

Network Reliability and Speed
Computers are available for student use in every building on campus. There are printers that are connected to the computers in each building and you can connect your personal computer to the network and college printers. The network is very unreliable, which is the downside. I have a good connection to the network on the West side of campus and terrible connection on the East side. This is consistent with some of my peers as well.

Convenience
Off-Campus housing is only offered to students with Senior standing. Many students live very near the campus (1-2 blocks off campus). The housing is affordable, a good change from apartments and dorms, and is usually conveniently close to classes.

All Campus Events
A unique feature of Colorado College is the fact that the student body is small enough to allow everyone to attend an all-campus party or a Division 1 hockey game at the World Arena. We have all-campus events almost once a block; Halloween, Ice Age, Drag Ball, Llamapalooza to name a few. The community is able to interact with each other on a level that a bigger college or university is unable to.
