Challenging but Manageable
Classes are tough but you can work through them. Marquette definitely challenges you.

Some Houses, Some Apartments
Apartments are generally better options. Some people live in houses and have a great time with good landlords but others don't have good experiences.

Sense of Community, Alumni, Overall Warmth
There's something special about Marquette. No, it isn't Notre Dame but it certainly isn't trying to be. I've visited friends at Loyola-Chicago, Xavier, SLU, Gonzaga, Fordham--you name the Jesuit school, and there simply isn't the sense of warmth and community at those schools. Marquette just has a combination aura of midwestern charm with a tiny bit of Chicago snobbery, add in some spirituality and basketball love with a lot of beautiful people and you get the community of Marquette.
I can't wait to come back to Milwaukee, I really want to be a dedicated alum.

Challenging With Great Opportunities Later
Everyone double majors in the business school. Workload is a lot of numbers, statistics, and presentations.
Left school with a high paying job as in the Six Sigma area of a company.

Much Better Than It Used to Be
Sodexo got threatened by Marquette University government and got its act together. Food has so much more variety now than when I first came to campus. You can actually eat really healthy now.

Awesome, Milwaukee Is a Cheap "Foodie" City
You would not believe the restaurants in MKE. It's like Chicago except better prices. You have everything from Sanford (consistently one of the highest rated restaurants in the USA) to Conejito's (excellent, dirt cheap Mexican food). Milwaukee has so many different cultures in one city--you get the best German, American, Polish, Mexican, Irish--man, all these foods, I could go on. There is so much food and liquor in this town to be experienced.

Standard City Parking
Milwaukee meter maids are strict. Buy a campus pass if you need one, otherwise just don't bring a car freshman and sophomore year, you can take the bus it's easy. Then junior year get a spot on campus or by your apartment.

Fantastic
Prestige, warmth, history. I just love everything about my Marquette experience. The school has a reputation. The people are warm and welcoming. There is so much history here as well.
It's not a snobby place, but people know what Marquette is. It's a great place to get an education, have a few beers and make some great friends.
And Milwaukee is an experience in and of itself. I was here for 4 years and I've explored the city and every time my friends and I go out we always find something new.

Very Generous
Considering the University president just raised $43 million in scholarships a few days ago for his retirement, MU is doing quite well. Every one of my friends has at least $20k in scholarships.

Catholic but Accepting
Jesuits are all about "the more you know, the better". Students are open to all faiths but most are Catholics.

Guys Are Great, Girls Are Cute
Being a guy I feel weird rating guys...I would say the guys are the social, fun guys from your high school, but hardly bros. Guys here are really smart and unique and generally look good.
Most girls at MU are cute, some are absolutely gorgeous.

Semi-Strict Dorms, Not Strict With Underage Drinking at All
Dorms aren't as bad as Notre Dame. At least dorms here are co-ed. You have to be off the other sex's floor by 2 am.
Once you get off campus you're free. The Marquette Safety squad is good about just making sure you're safe and letting you party rather than trying to break up every party. They're not strict about underage drinking at all.

Mostly Alcohol
Underage drinking is fine. Fake IDs are easy to get and easy to use in bars and liquor stores. Pot is abundant but low key.

Fun on-Campus Bars and Houses
Most students party in dorms, at houses or at the bars on campus. Some go to Water St. Lots of variety--piano bars, irish bars, etc.

So Much Love for B-Ball
Couldn't ask for more, MU bball is so fun.
Beyond that, intramurals are popular for every sport. Plenty of club teams.

Bring a Car Junior Year, Bus and Limos Are Fine Otherwise
MCTS is good. Cabs are cheap. LIMOs take you all over campus till 3 am. You need a car your junior year for groceries though.

Summer, Spring and Fall Are Great, Winter Not So Much
Summer in Milwaukee is my favorite time to be here. Campus is gorgeous in spring and fall, everyone hangs out outside. Winter...well, when you look outside your window it looks nice. Can be slushy and unpredictable. Classes have been canceled twice since I've been here.
