Dining at U of I

The dining options here are pretty flexible. You get a choice of 14 meals a week but no cafe credits(flex dollars), 12 meals and 15 cafe credits per week, 10 meals and 45 cafe credits per week, 10 meals and 60 cafe credits per week, and then there is also the option to have 100 cafe credits but you do not get any meals. The quality of the food at all of the dining halls are pretty good as well. The best place to eat, in my opinion is the dining hall at Illinois Street Residence Hall because they have more variety than all the other residence dining halls. The best place to spend your cafe credits(flex dollars) is at Ikenberry Route 66. They have everything you can think of there, smoothies, candy, all types of beverages, food, medicine, etc. It is kind of like the mini version of Walgreens, which makes it awesome to shop there.

Apartment Hunting: NOT Easy!

Champaign apartments are pretty expensive. It is more expensive to lease an apartment on campus than off campus because everything is at your feet. Off campus apartments are kind of reasonable, but it is still pretty expensive. You will be lucky to find an apartment that has you pay $300 a month. Finding an apartment here is not easy, there is so much scouting to do. The quality of the apartments on campus are pretty nice and only some of the apartments off campus have good quality.
