Academics at Boston College

A-

Biochemistry

This is one of the first co-curricular majors that BC created. The biology and chemistry departments work really well together to provide a good solid background in both subjects. The teachers for the required courses are all very knowledgeable. The courseload can be tough but in my experience, professors are always willing to help. There's lots of research opportunities on campus as you can work in a biology or chemistry lab so theres more options. Also, as you go further on there are a lot of interesting classes to choose from for advanced electives, which gives you some freedom to learn about things you are actually interested in.

Guys & Girls at Boston College

Typical Preps

Overall, everyone at Boston College is welcoming once you know them, but many people look hard to approach. People generally find their own group of friends by sophomore year so it's hard to meet new people unless you're active in clubs, activities, etc. While most people appear to be upper middle class preppy kids, there are a lot of down to earth, nice people.
