F*** Quidditch
If you wanna come to this school to do a real sport, expect nothing more than hobby fulfillment. It seems like more people play Quidditch here than all the other sports combined.

Outside of Class is Where It's At
Extracurriculars is where the real learning is at here, for better or worse. While the academics can be mildly interesting and somewhat helpful, they are not the main reason people attend Emerson. There's a lot of easy-A gen eds and lackluster professors. Even the self-aware classes tend to be bland and a bit unobtrusive.

Here you will find the magical area between social liberal and economic conservative. Yes, of course, everyone here has a very strong leftist belief about abortion & gay rights (I can't even begin to talk about the drama on campus when pro-lifers decided to demonstrate across from the Little Building,) but when it comes to larger political issues like income tax and international relations, most don't really have a clue or just regurgitate the upperclass, slightly conservative ideas their parents shoved down their throat. Don't come here looking to find an assortment of people from all kinds of backgrounds. Yeah, you can find people from Brazil, Britain, Pennsylvania or the Boston Area, but they're generally all going to have come from the same class background. But perhaps that's just a flaw in higher education, not necessarily an Emerson-specific problem

The Nerds Shall Inherit the Voice!
Most people here were somehow ostracized in high school, making them delightfully slow to judge and accepting--albeit a bit socially stunted. There's a lot of ex-emo kids here, those who still admit a things for My Chemical Romance or The Nightmare Before Christmas. A lot of people feel a sense of belonging they never felt in high school.
When it comes to dating, there's really no clear fortune. Most attractive straight men have girlfriends back home or at another Boston school. Most single, attractive guys are gay. What can you do? Make friends :)
