Great Variety
There are three main dining halls, the Pit, Danforth, and Douglass and each of them serve very different meals. You have the choice of so many different types of foods, from pizza to subs, quesadillas to pasta, pulled pork wraps to steak and cheese sandwiches off the grill. The only thing is that like every college campus, by the end of the semester you still want something different. But currently they are changing up are meal options for the better and I can't wait for that!

Moderate Amounts of Strictness
The only real punishment that the university has is towards alcohol. They are trying to be very strict with underaged drinking and have been cracking down on many frat parties. So they are strict towards that but other than that I rarely hear about unfair punishments.

Unique Curriculum
I love the University of Rochester's curriculum. It is one of the reasons that I chose this school. There are no required classes except for writing, and even with that there are so many different types of interesting writing classes to choose from that many often love the class. Instead of having required classes, UR has a cluster system where students have to choose a cluster, consisting of 3 related classes, outside of their major. There are humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences and the two categories that the students major is not contained within are the two categories that the students have to choose a cluster within. One cluster in each category. This is a brilliant way to ensure that students learn things outside of their main field of interest while also allowing them to choose something that they would like to learn.
