Expensive but Good
Cambridge is an expensive area, so it should come as no surprise that many of the restaurants and cafes are pricey. For the most part though, the food is well worth it. Harvard meal options are typically pretty good, but if you feel the need to go out to eat, there are definitely some great options. Check out Bartley's Burgers, Daedalus, and Veggie Planet.

Hahvahd's Where It's at
So let me start by saying forget everything you saw in 'The Social Network'. Although the stereotypical ostentatious Harvard 'preps' do indeed exist, they constitute a small minority that stands in stark contrast to the bustling and diverse community of Harvard University.
Harvard offers thousands of outstanding opportunities for students, with famous professors (I recently had a seminar with the former President of the American Society of Microbiology), amazing travel opportunities, hundreds (feels like thousands) of organizations, and tons and tons of student resources. This may feel overwhelming at first, but Harvard provides a solid network of advising and support for each student, helping him/her to navigate the often chaotic first couple weeks.
