Parking at Smith College

C-

I Don't Drive...

...but I do know that parking on Smith campus is pretty bad. Most of it is far away from where you live, they tend to ticket, and then there's the snow emergencies...

To be honest, if you are not a junior or senior and don't live close/need a car for specific purposes, having one's probably just a hassle. You can take the PVTA to other college campuses in the area or the closest mall. Or you can walk or bike a lot of places that are in town. If you need a ride, there are people with cars you can ask.

Give It a Shot

My best advice is to stay on top of things, mind the deadlines, and don't be afraid to go in and talk to them if something is not going so well.

Campus Housing at Smith College

A

Get Sorted!

The house system can be a really great way to get to know people you wouldn't otherwise and have some built-in-social life that makes getting used to Smith easier. Roommates are usually assigned fairly well, but sometimes you get someone you can't live with. If you and your house or roommate aren't compatible... try to move out! Don't suffer in silence. But do try to get to know people in your house, and you'll be a happier person most likely. Stereotypes: Green Street is quieter, but close to everything; the Quad has all the big-deal parties and the houses are bigger; Elm Street is kind of hipster (but not always); and Center Campus is like a mixed bag.
