Yeah, They Do It Here.
If you are looking for drugs, you will find them. No one forces them on you but the resources are readily available. Often times while walking to one of the city's busy streets (within student access anyways) you will smell particular fumes. Smoking cigarettes is less common than something like marijuana, but it happens too.

Don't Bring Your Car
Parking exists, but only if you park around 10-20 minutes ahead of time (and there is a 2hr parking limit) or if you hold a Nobel Prize. It is much more efficient to walk or to bike. For off-campus housing, there is a bus that should take you around campus for free (once you get your student ID you can get a free semester bus pass).

Bay Area Breeze
Coming from humid ol' Florida, the weather here can be a little chilly. However, up until winter, the weather ranges from cold + rainy to perfect. Bringing an umbrella or some sort of rain gear is recommended.
