Facilities at Providence College

B

Facilities Are Great

Although I wouldn't say that any of the buildings on campus are rundown, some of them have that "old building" feel to them. Most of the buildings look the same, brown bricked and plain. The best looking building is Harkins Hall, which also contains our admissions office.

The gym, Concannon Fitness Center was just redone and is absolutely amazing. Most of the equipment has tv's attached so it's nice to have the distraction while working out.

The library is old, plain, and somewhat creepy. However, it always seems to have what I need for research and there are plenty of places to sit and work.

Slavin, the student center was just renovated and it is great! There is now a coffee shop PC Perk and more couches and tables for students to sit in and work or relax. It is open 24 hours a day which is another bonus.

While most of the campus isn't aesthetically pleasing, PC's facilities are practical and have hidden perks to them

Local Atmosphere at Providence College

B-

Providence Is Small!

Ok, maybe it is because I am from New York and I'm spoiled by a huge city with anything you could ever want in it. But the city of Providence leaves A LOT to desire. It's very small and doesn't feel like a city to me. However, it does have some small gems. The mall is huge, Thayer street is fun, water fire is always fun to experience, and there are a lot of surrounding colleges such as Brown, Johnson and Wales, and RIC.

Off-Campus Dining at Providence College

A-

Typical College Food

While Providence doesn't have a ton of great places to eat around it does have a lot of cheap, open late places with a lot of options. Golden Crust and Big Tony's are two very popular places for PC students, especially for late night food. They are very close by and Golden Crust is so cheap. In downtown Providence by the mall, there is a Cheesecake Factory, a Fire and Ice, and an Uno's, all popular with students.

Guys & Girls at Providence College

B

Typical Guys and Gals

Mostly everyone here looks like someone out of a J.Crew magazine. If you want that look, great you'll love the girls and guys here. If you don't, good luck. It's hard to find people who don't all look the same. But all in all, campus is pretty darn good lookin!

Parking at Providence College

C+

Limited Spots

It's often hard to find good parking where you won't have to walk far. Upper classmen of course have better chances. But even then, I know a lot of people who can't find a spot. If you don't have your car registered, your best bet is to park behind Fennel, I've never heard of anyone getting ticketed there.
