Very Safe, No Worries
There hardly any crime around Truman, except for a few of the local townie meth heads. But it's a small, rural school, so a safe campus is pretty expected.

Nice Facilities
Campus has an older, traditional look to it with many brick building. The rec center and library are excellent, especially considering Truman's small size. I'm familiar with other universities, and the diversity of clubs and activities trumps many schools larger than Truman. Get involved with something!

It's the Midwest
Cold, muggy winters, and warm, humid summers. Snow days? It's only happened once in 30 years. Better be prepared to trudge through that blizzard to get to class. City snow removal consists of a few guys attaching a plow to their pickup truck. Spring is always very nice though.

Living Off-Campus Is Cheaper
Most dorms are pretty close to class, and some dorms have cafeterias in them, making them very convenient.
However, off-campus is much cheaper with Kirksville's low cost of living.
