Mostly White, but Very Accepting People
More than two-thirds of the student body is white, but they're all very friendly and eager to know more about the different ethnic and religious groups represented on campus. Most people are supportive of LGBTQ and even stick labels on their rooms and laptops "LGBT? Fine by me." The school is just so-so with regards to economic diversity (many of the students here come from rich families) but I don't think that ever seems to be a problem.

Great Financial Aid
I got a very generous financial aid package, though I think the loan and work study amount should be reduced and replaced with grants. Try to send in all your forms on time.

You can choose any major you want, and there's no application that I know of.

Professors Are Amazing
I'm in the Engineering Department and our professors are some of the most helpful and supportive people I've seen in my life. Though the workload may get tough, they welcome you to conduct EXCEL research with them, and they later help in the networking and job search process. I think that if I were asked to name one thing that's best about Lafayette, it's the professors hands down.
