A Little Below Average

The food is here is alright. It's typical college food, with not too much variety. To be fair, they have come a long way since my freshman year and now offer vegetarian specials everyday. They also have a midweek special which is usually pretty good at Brooks (the main dining hall). Mckinley's, the points for food dining center, has pretty good food. However, the prices are pretty high. Around town there is a lot of fast food, and some pretty decent sub shops, pizza places, and a couple of good local restaurants. You might get bored with the options here by the end of semester, but for the first few months you will be fine.

Greek Life Is Essential

Greek life is involved in everything on campus. They are involved in every club, sports team, and student body organization, and have a strong say in what gets done here. They do way more than just throw parties, and in fact contribute the most community service hours and raise the most money for philanthropic events compared to other organizations. If you want to raise awareness of an issue or get something done, either become Greek, or get your Greek friends interested in your cause.

Parking Is Rough

Plain and simple there is not enough parking. There are too many people with cars and not enough spots for them. The North Village parking lot is a nightmare as it is gravel and cannot be plowed during the long Meadville winters.

The Campus Is Very Safe

For the most part Allegheny is a very safe campus. Meadville can at times be a little sketchy, but I have never felt unsafe in 3 years here. Safey and Security officers are really friendly for the most part and are willing to work with students.
