The Food Is GREAT
The food at Gustavus is great. There is the cafe for coffee and other foods typical of a coffee house and then the main cafeteria. The caf is a la carte so you can get as much or as little as you want and pay accordingly. Plus, since you're not paying by the meal, you can stop in as often as you want. There are a ton of options and they encourage you to mix and match to make your own creations. I ate there every day 3 of 4 years and still enjoy the food. Also, it is open all day every day so you don't have to be there at specific meal times.

Delicious and Great Variety
I have never had a meal I didn't like at the Caf. They have a huge variety of different types of food. They have a lot of options for you depending upon your dietary needs. They are concerned about buying local and offer a green initiative. To avoid paper take-out container waste, they have GustieWare which are containers available that you return to get washed and re-used after you're done with them, free of charge.

Average College
There are fraternities, but no official houses. But, there are a wide variety of parties at houses and a few really good bars in town. There is free transportation to and from the campus to the bar area of town via the GusBus. It runs from 9pm-2am every weekend. The college owned apartments are also well designed for socialization.
