Very Well Funded and Maintained
The existing facilities here at Bama are very useful for students, faculty, and staff alike. The Rec Center has 2 levels of machines and equipment available to anyone on or off-campus; for those who would like some direction as to their exercise, there are three studios almost constantly running some sort of class, whether it be Pilates, kickboxing, spinning, or Yoga. The Ferguson Center, the spot that students converge in to take shelter from the elements and eat as much food as they want, has its own delicious dining hall (Fresh Foods), as well as eight or nine fast food services ranging from Chik-fil-A to sushi to pizza. The five libraries are prime location for students looking to study or just hang out, and most of them offer computer labs students can use at almost any time of day (even at midnight!). No matter what you want to do on campus, or where you want to be, there is always a place to have fun or get things done.

Delicious but Expensive
The meal plans and Dining Dollars provide access to all-you-can eat dining halls and the other campus vendors, but at $8.75 per meal plus tax, the amount of money spent can add up very quickly. Most freshmen that are required to buy a meal plan can hardly use all of their meals during the year, and there is no discount for buying meal plans ahead of time, which is very unfortunate. Fresh Foods dining hall has some of the best and freshest buffet food I have ever eaten, but watch out! It is very easy to gain the freshman fifteen when eating at any of the dining halls; very little emphasis is put on portion control or calorie consumption. After a while, some people feel that eating at the dining halls or the on-campus vendors just gets old, but I disagree. If you are ravenous and have the money to pay for it, eating on-campus is well worth it.

The Strip Is Amazing!
If you ever visit Bama and wish to observe the social scene on campus, head down to University Boulevard and walk down the Strip, a cluster of shops, restaurants, fast food, bars and opportunities. There is almost always something big happening at night, and it is always fun to party hard and have a great time.
