Fast Paced, Harder Acceptance Rate
As more people go into the major, only 1 in 5 get accepted, which is unfortunate. Even with a 4.0 many are turned away. Classes such as Physics are taught at a lightning fast pace, so it can be difficult to keep up.

From a Commuter Standpoint
As a commuter it's not as easy to socialize it would be in a dorm setting, so for the full 'college experience' I would dorm. There are plenty of places of interest on campus, including food, the IMA gym, and shops.

Generally Fine
The most annoying policy is for snow days. UW tries to keep school open even though it would not be good for commuters. In classrooms, though it varies by professor/instructor policies are generally lax.
