Really Good!
Food is generally excellent at the two dining halls, with an interesting and varied menu. The cooks are willing to try and make almost any dish, although their attempts at Asian food are normally sub-par. The Pub offers a standard selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches.

Decent Coverage
I received only a small amount of financial aid, but I am also a work-study student.

Typical New England Sporty-Prep
The stereotype is that Bowdoin guys are great-looking, while Bowdoin girls are average to below-average. While this is true to some extent, there are plenty of average-looking guys and really beautiful girls, as well. Dress style is pretty much either prep or sweatpants, though there are a few quirky/stylish people around campus, as well. The dating scene is definitely almost nonexistent—typically, most students go for hook-ups and there are a few very committed couples, but casual dating is almost never seen.

No Greek Life at Bowdoin
The College abolished the Greek life system about 15 years ago. Instead, each freshman dorm is associated with a social house, which is responsible for putting on parties. Typically, associates of the house are admitted an hour earlier than the rest of campus. The houses are nice to have, but they're not an essential part of campus life.

Really Great Close-Knit Community
Bowdoin is a small school, but that is part of its charm. If you want a school with a small, caring, supportive environment, Bowdoin is the place to be. People here study hard but aren't competitive and know how to have a good time, as well.
