watch your back – the security here at old dominion is terrible. i do not feel safe at all and walk around with a knife in my pocket because of it. i often get alerts every week about a robbery near campus or another violent crime. the cops are always busting parties instead of doing there jobs of being keepers of the peace, they should be looking for criminals. many of my friends have been assaulted on the streets surrounding campus, one of them being pistol whipped. you can believe it or not but if you come to odu brush up on your street smarts

Roaches, unclean bathrooms – Roaches. The main problem. Whitehurst dorm is infested with them. My friend woke up the other night with one on his bed, and that was the 6th one I saw or heard about in 2 days. A lot of bathrooms also come unkept, as some sort of brown moldy substance can be seen creeping the walls of the shower.

Drugs, everywhere – After my first year at ODU, Ive seen it all. Marijuana, alcohol, Ecstasy, shrooms, DMT, cocaine, etc. Though the harder drugs are not as common, Marijuana is the easiest thing to get on campus. There are so many dealers that the dealers constantly text/bother people to buy from them because there is so much competition. I saw my roommate go from being a fresh student who had never smoked before into a complete pot head.

Roaches/bugs everywhere. Terrible food. Racist Staff – Legends cafeteria is supposed to be the best cafe on campus, as it is located in Whitehurst dorm, where the athletes live. Well, lets start off with the bugs first. The salad and fruit bars are CONSTANTLY surrounded by tons of fruit flies and gnats, so its an automatic no go for there. The other day, I saw a cockroach just chilling on the clean plates that students pick up to get their food. Getting a little off topic here, I've seen about 6 roaches in the past 2 days, ranging from my friends room, to the cafeteria, to the halls, and the common rooms. The staff of Legends is racist. To start off, the staff is ENTIRELY made up of black individuals. The same black male usually is at the main meat section, and always has an attitude towards any non black person. He shuffles through the food to pick out the worst piece he can find for people, and then throws it on your plate. I stood next to his serving area for about 10 minutes one time. Anytime a black male or female of any gender was in line, he would smile and give out a nice piece of meat, when a male of any race besides black was next, the same negative attitude. Now finally, lets talk about the food. No. Period. They have friend chicken patties almost everyday, and when there are no chicken patties, expect something else made out of chicken. Occasionally there will be some sort of other meat, but it is ALWAYS low quality and most made up of the fatty portions. They also usually have this type of fake meat that they call "riblets" to try and fool students that it is a sort of prime rib, but instead it tastes like processed meatloaf. The juice station is almost always out, and they dont refill it for days. The milk station is USUALLY stocked, but about 20% of the time you will drink expired milk, as not many people drink milk and they leave it for days and days. Like I said in the beginning of this review, Legends cafeteria is made strictly for atheletes, so unless you want your child to die either from food poisoning or some sort of roach afflicted disease, make sure they never go here.
