The drug scene is more prevelant than one would hope for. There are some dorms that are known for having a lot of pot heads, and a few of the on campus apartments wreak of weed. The alcohol consumption is mostly off campus, and isnt really a problem or visible unless you are up at three in the morning on weekends when everyone comes back all messed up

There isnt too much to say: UNCW is a beach school. A lot of the people here are from in state and enjoy the warmer weather and what it has to offer; so you see nice tans, well toned bodies, and a lot of athletic looking students

there really isnt too much ethnic diversity other than the foreign students themselves, but as far as religious backgrounds go i feel like there is a general christian affiliation, but not so much a specific denomination.

Financial aid is difficult to get through, especially for out of state students. I recommend applying for work study asap, because if you wait all of the spots will be gone before you get a chance to apply.
