There's about 1000000 places to eat and if you are frugal with your spending, you can find $1 per slice pizza and $10 entree restaurants that would blow you away. People that complain about the price are not looking past Broadway or 5th Avenue. Duh... How about you go to St. Mark's Place or East Village. It's cheap and delicious.

One Word: Manhattan
It's tres cher in Manhattan. Unless you are planning on getting 1-4 other roommates to split the rent, you best be looking over yonder in Brooklyn for a studio or something. (I might add that Brooklyn is amazing.)

NYU, It's What You Make of It
People who come to NYU are a different breed of college student. There are so many awesome people to meet, but YOU are the one that must seek them out. It's such a big university that YOU are the one that must make your own footprint and if you want something you have to make it happen. No one will hold you hand. This is awesome because this parallels life. No one will be holding my hand after I graduate, so why not start getting acquainted with this feeling now? If you need support, it is always there waiting for you, otherwise you are an adult. That's what I love about this university, the people are REAL, the experiences are REAL. There is not sugar-coating and baby-ing here.
