Lovely, Yet Limited Dining at Smith
Most of the "houses" (we don't call them dorms at Smith) have their own dining halls, which I love. Not only does it feel more like home when you can eat with your house "family" every night for dinner, but you also get to know the dining staff really well, and they are very responsive to comments and suggestions. The food is great, and the atmosphere is very relaxed unlike the huge dining halls at larger schools where everything is very rushed and high-paced. The one thing I would change though is the very limited meal times. Because of the many small and separate kitchens, dinner is only served from 5:30-7 p.m., which can sometimes be hard to work into a busy schedule.

Diversity on Campus
I found that many of the different ethnic groups were divided even before we started our classes due to having separate orientation groups. There are many African-American students accepted through the Ada Comstock program who have their own activities and Facebook groups before they even arrive on campus. Also, international students have an earlier orientation than the other first-years, so they have often already formed close-knit bonds so it is hard to get to know them.

Busing It
The bus system is great! It is free for all students in the Five Colleges in the area, and they run very frequently and reasonably quickly. There is also transportation to the local mall and a great hiking spot at a nature reserve.
