Local Atmosphere at Michigan State University

Where to Be: East Lansing!

Michigan State University is located in East Lansing, Michigan. While some might think since East Lansing is right next to the capital, Lansing, that this city would be loud, crowd, and dirty. But East Lansing is an amazing surprise. Since smack-dab in the middle of the city is campus, its only natural for the town to be completely devoted to the Spartans! During football season the streets are decorated to the nines in banners, window paint, and green and white everything! Any store you walk into is playing the fight song and selling a ton of MSU merchandise. Besides supporting our school, the street Grand River runs almost the complete length of campus. There you will find it all: great shopping, amazing restaurants, tons of bookstores, convenient pharmacies, and a lot of school spirit stores! Grand River hosts many fun activities throughout the year like art fairs and music festivals. The area is very safe also, since the majority of residents are students and families. For me, East Lansing is the perfect area to have a successfull and educational college experience.

Academics at Michigan State University

A-

Available for Any Need

Academics at Michigan State are outstanding. Classes were designed to challenge and push you and your mind to every extent. Some classes, like core classes that every student needs to graduate, have tons of students in them. It might make some feel like a needle in the hay stack but if you need help all you need to do is talk to the T.A. who is present the entire semester. Professors usually pass all questions of getting help or homework/exam questions to the T.A.s but if you have a specific question, all professors have open and flexible office hours.
