Hipster Hook-Ups
Nearly everyone on campus is a hipster, to some degree. Skinny jeans, skirts with tights, and psuedo-geeky glasses abound. Both guys and girls are incredibly stylish, and not many people are in your face about it. The generic hipster style can get boring, though. Luckily there are people who shape their own interesting style instead of relying on stereotypes and Tumblr pictures for style tips. Hook up culture is a big part of life at Wes. From what I have seen, there are less relationships and a lot more "Friends with Benefits" situations. None of this is necessarily bad--it's part of what gives Wes its unique culture. Students take pride in these widely recognized things and even make fun of themselves for them.

Greek Life: NBD
Extremely non-intrusive. They definitely throw good parties, but there is no pressure to join Greek life. Greek students can sometimes be stereotyped, but the typical frat bro at Wesleyan is no different from any other student--they go to their philosophy class and debate the social construct of political correctness just like everyone else.

Not So Hot
Financial aid is extremely difficult. I have a much greater need than forms can show, and making ends meet to come to school is a burden on my family. The financial aid office is not too helpful in awarding money or finding alternate means of paying for school.
