Pros and Cons for the Financial Aid Policy

The financial aid for Wellesley is based solely on need. So in return there isn't a whole lot of help with finding scholarships outside of the college and merits scholarships aren't offered from the college. The Office of International Studies is very helpful in finding scholarships for study abroad outside of the Wellesley College.

Deciding Majors

When entering Wellesley, you don't ahve to declare your major which is great. If you have a major already determined then you can go right ahead and plan out classes, for your four years, but if undecided, like I was, then there is an oppurtunity for exploration that first year. Gettign approved as a math major wasn't hard. The application isn't long and Wellesley allows students to change their majors upto senior year. There is a lot of flexibility. The only consideration to take in mind is if a student plans to be pre-med. I've heard since there are a lot of recommended classes, that tract is rather strict.
